Steroids The drug I chose for this report was
steroids. Steroids is a drug that
produces artificial testosterone.
Testosterone is something that makes
your muscles grow. People take
steroids to make their muscles grow
Larger, faster. They take either pills or
injections from a needle that sends a
message to the hypothalamus and
then it releases testosterone.
The hypothalamus are nerve cells that
are located in the base of the brain.
Some of the affects of taking
steroids are changes in the brain and
the body that can increase risk of
illness. Another affect is that it can
cause cancer or liver
damage and it can also stop bones from
growing. The affects on your brain
include hurting your memory and
learning, it can cause depression and
irritability, and it can confuse your
thought. Steroids have the following
affects on boys; in can shrink testies,
lower sperm count, and cause
irreversible hair loss. Steroids can
affect girls too. They can have a loss of
their period, experience loss of hair
and they will have a lower voice.
Many athletes use steroids illegally
to help them perform better. Just
recently, a famous baseball player,
Barry Bonds, admitted to taking
steroids. There’s a big controversy
regarding all the records he has broken
and the great things he did as a
baseball player are being questioned
because he took steroids. Many athletes
think it is worth it because they can run
faster and perform better, but they are
really cheating. And in the long run, the
cost to their health will not be worth
winning a medal or breaking a world
record.
Steroids should only be used when
they are prescribed by a physician.
They can be a very beneficial drug
when used for the proper reasons. I
have a cousin who has severe asthma,
and sometimes when his lung
functions are really low, he has to go on
steroids to help him breathe. There are
side affects to taking steroids even
when they are prescribed by a doctor.
My cousin always gains some weight
and gets very puffy looking in the face.
But they always help him after a few
doses and he can stop taking them until
the next time.
That is my report on what
steroids are and how they affect you so
The next time you think about taking
steroids to improve your game, think
again! You are better off coming in
second place, then ending up dead.

This is unusual for me. I am up before noon! And I'm doing something. Shocker. I really couldn't get up to go the gym with my mom at 8.15 this morning, but 11.00 is a little bit more managable, especially went I went to bed at 4.00. The Netflix I ordered came in yesterday... both Adrien Brody movies. Needless to say I had to watch them right then and there. I got The Affair of the Necklace and Love the Hard Way. Still waiting for Liberty Heights to get in... ah bum. I didn't get home till around 11.00 last night from the wild wing night party with Natalie, Courtney and their posse. All around good time, even though I don't eat wings. I also saw Christina from basketball at Donkin Dounuts. She was a senior when I was a frosh, but her sister still goes to Knolls so she is still in the loop (Elaine H. if anyone knows her... I hope you don't, for your sake) I gotta go

I have decided to update instead on being just a whore...
Summer has been swell. Swell Swell Swell, as in SWELLTERING Gyms, which is just about the only thing i've seen. I have seen 5 different lovely states gyms... hint: they are all the same. I just got back a few days ago (meaning yesterday) from my 3 week sojurn (sp?) through the USA to play basketball. I had a lot of fun but it just isnt a replacement for SIG, cause my mom was there. I love her, oh but sometimes I don't. I almost wish my dad had gone instead since he knows basketball at least. My mom I know felt alienated as it was and I was a bitch on top of that, but it is over and done with. The first thing I did when I got home was... eat. Then sleep for a good 8 hours. Then eat some more! Today I got up SUPER late, and then went to see The Village with my mom (Adrien Brody is my newest obsession! Uber cute, I think so anyway. No one else seems to agree). Great movie. Shyamalan is the new Alfred H., if he can keep pulling that sort of thing off. And I took back movies, so I got to pick out one.... Dirty dancing Havana Nights... so sue me. I neeeeeded fluff... and just a little Patrick although he is mucho old in it. Very cute cuban guys anyway so it really wasn't a bust. I gotta go get some sleep. I promised my mom I'd go to the gym w/ her tommorow. If anyone wants to get together just call me.

I know this may sound depressing but, at least for me, summer is almost over...
ya I know it just started... but with my crazy basketball scedule, its almost over. This is a typical week... Monday practice, teusday game, wednesday practice, thursday game, friday chuck's for shooting lessons, weekend tournament. Crazy I tell you... I'm already beginning to stress out about all my school work that I can just feel won't get completed before September. I'll be away most of the summer too. I have this weekend off but next weekend I'll be away somewhere in NJ, then Penn State, the Chicago, Purdue, Vegas, Ryder. Starting the 14th I won't be home till August. :)... a blessing in disquise if I can put off cleaning my room till then.
In the meantime I watch movies. Any movie... so far this summer I have watched: Snatch, The Manchurian Canidate, Rocky 1, The Original Star Wars Triolgy, Batman Returns, Donnie Darko, and Trainspotting. Plus all those darling special features that come with those DVD's and even the videos (the star wars movies have really long boring interviews with dear George before them that I feel just lame FF thru on video). Ah life. I need to get out more. I did go for a walk with my mom in the bug infested woods this morning, but then I just came home and ate a dounut, so that totally negates the walking stuff. I guess I should go to bed now... bye.

Schools almost up. Time is all run out, wish I could have known you better. Today Cate's cat peed on her science notes, but its okay we were done with them. Post-cold war thrillers? Only now it could happen in the middle of summer. Slightly random. 2 finals down, 3 to go. I got a 90 on the German final, and I can only hope for a good/better grade in English. I took far too long on the first essay and wrote way too much. My final essay was definatly not really an essay, but screw. I don't care. I have history and chem tommorow and I should really be studying that right now, but I thought I should update... I guess. I'm trying to better my mind by listening to NPR while I write this, I don't know if it's working but world wide news sounds better in a British Accent.

Simon Tam is a very very sexy doctor. I would marry him in a second.
"My sisters a ship, we had a very complicated childhood."
Bloody great fella. Had an okay day today. I can't really have a bad day. It was really nice outside, all temperate and non-rainy. I got to be outside in gym, but it was really boring. I don't like lifting weights around other people, especially boys with big muscles. Walcottness made me want to puke, and we got free chocolate in math. All is well. Where did the afernoon go I ask. It's already 9.00 at night. Jeez.
Does that seem right to you?

Just a quick little update. A happy little one I suppose. Today is my Birthday. Yay. I got to sleep in and I think I had a dream about something although I can't remember. I had a really good dream a couple days ago though. It was about being in a hotel with lots of elevetors and I was caught by some Chinese/Indian/Irish mob, for doing something bad, and they told their son to kill me, but he let me go. So I was being chased up and down these elevators and I think I jumped off the roof but it was okay, since I had on roller blades. So I roller skated all over the city till I found some friends in a little produce shop and we took their convertable and went to the beach... but instead we ended up just driving around in our bikinis (cause in dreams you are skinny enough to wear a bikini).
Wow, what a run on sentence. Dreams can only be accuratly described in a run on sentence I suppose.
I was thinking the other day about something. If you were in a universe that was sort of like a futuristic western (Whedon Firefly-verse) and they dropped you off at a port, what exactly would you do? I was thinking about this because I stole my Aunts Firefly boxed set. I would probably starve, or get shot. Yup, cause all i can do is read, write, do a little math, and play basketball... I could be a whore I guess. I don't have much experience. Whatever, I'm in creative writing. I'm stewing my juices, don't blame me for being random.
So I'm 16... the big 1-6. I don't know if i really feel different, but strange things are happening. I get to drive. Oh, jebus. Plus ah. I'm 16. What am I going to do with the rest of my life?. Rhetorical. I'm actually thinking of buying a class ring. Not one of the ones that is all... weird, but a true clunky old class ring. The cheapest one they've got. I showed my mom the stuff this morning and she told me I should get one. She even brought out her old Carey High class ring and wore it as she was driving me to school. Eh what a world more later I suppose.

1:57 am - I love New York
|
Ah today was grand. ISN"T LIFE SWELL! Got up early to do laudry, only got the whites done before my mom whisked me off to Kohl's to do a bit of shopping. I loaded up my arm with gaudy bracelets and picked out a funky pair of shades and walked around like I was drunk with a little stuffed animal. Much fun. Then we got back and hurried around getting dressed and showering, so as not to miss the train at 3.06 at Denville to Penn St. We went out to eat and to see Wicked with a bunch of my family for all our Birthdays. So I had to get 'dressed up'. Getting dressed up just depresses me, because I have absolutly nothing nice to wear that fits me right and I HATE clingey clothes (always have). So i ended up wearing jeans and a nice t-shirt and changing later anyway. Well the place we went to eat was literaly right next to the theater (or as my mom put it 'you could stumble from one and into the other). My mom and I got their early and I was wearing my new I ::heart:: NY tee because I was cold and uncomfortable, so all the chic waitresses there were giving me the evil eye till I changed. I had a great time, food all around. Desert was the best part though. A bunch of us ordered this chocolate thing... and it was delicious; I ate the entire thing, but guess what it really was... CHOCOLATE COVER EGGPLANT SLICES! Man, when i heard that I though I was going to reject a kidney. The show was awesome. A great spectical, so I am faithfully going to re-read the book. It's kinda late now and I am oh so tired. Nighty!

Happy Easter to all, and also a Merry Passover.
Last night I went to see Gillian after my bball game. It ran late so we didn't get to go see Ella Enchanted, which looks REALLY bad, but Wesley is in it, so it really can't be that bad. Instead we just hung around. Aleena was there too, I haven't seen her since camp, and so was La, on break from NYU. Hugs all around. I got there around 9.40, so it was already kind of late. But Gillian fed us. Since her family is Jewish, there was all sorts of matza and matza products (including this one that was "Made with pride on the Lower East Side NYC). She thought it was weird that both Aleena and I went crazy and had about 4 pieces of matza each. I guess its because she actually HAS to eat matza, to suffer or what have you, and we don't. So we want to suffer... ::shrugs:: I don't know. After that and the massicure (AH! can't speeeelll) of a large bag of gummy bears, we went up stairs to get ready for bed and whatnot. Gillian let me take a shower, since I smelled and I was sleeping in her bed (she wouldn't let me sleep on the floor, the wench). We watched Cinderella (the one with Brandy and the hot Asian prince) till her computer randomly shut off. Gillian kept saying that she was going to wake us up to take a nice long walk near where her Post Nuclear Armeggedon Life mate of Choice lives(the town is only 2 sq miles bigs, everyone is practically in walking distance), but alas we woke up just in time to grad another piece of matza before my dad came to pick me up for Easter brekkie. But before that we had an interesting conversation involving Aleena marrying a female Canadian Mounty, after marrying Gillian's short cousin Nate. Camp friends are the best friends. I miss them all. I think i will go do something useful, like homework, or bake some shortbread.

3:23 pm - I Am Updating
|
for the sake of being able to say that I update everyonce and a while, I will write some drivel.
Stuff happened today, most of which I have already forgotten. Although I do remember the conversation we had this morning at Yoli's locker about leprecaun sex... it has scared me for life. Remind Autumn to NEVER AGAIN talk about leprecaun's and reproduction of any kind! I had started to freak out this morning over learning all of the German states in der Bundesrepublik Deutschland. Turns out the test isn't till after break, so I didn't cheat. We ended up just going over a few things. I ended up just reading ThePD anyway. Lit. Class was not so bad today, for 2 reason. 1) she didn't talk all that much 2) We got to watch a freaky movie that she didn't fast forward through the whole thing. We only got through one Emily D presentation, and I'm sorry to say it was pretty lame. Sorry New boy Kenny (who actually seems pretty cool). Gym was one of those fun days where we just sit there and do nothing. Cate Grotke and I played cards with someone. After a couple of mean games of Egyptian Ratscrew I had to do my Math hw and Jason Kohn came over and started talking to us... God knows why. He is such a pretentious idiot/namedropper. We were just sitting there all nice and whatever and he comes over and starts saying how weightroom is stupid, and sports are stupid (I do both) so I told him off, and he eventually left. Cate tends to get all these guys flocking to us, cause they like her. We visited Cate's crush after that, man is she a flirt. Just kidding. And during lunch I went to the library with her, but they didn't have the next Princess Diary book, so I got upset. I had a big fat math test last block. A weird thought occured to me as I was just sitting around waiting for the period to end. If I didn't like Mrs. Fergussin, I would steal all her staplers... Weird. I went to the nurse to get some band-aids, and ended up swiping some thermometers. I fell asleep on the bus and almost missed my stop too. What a wonderfull day. I had lots of weird thoughts today: 1) Jocks on a whole are not a bad group of people, just some of them. And we really don't get special treatment, unless it's gym, or your coach is the teacher. Believe me, no one passes you just cause you're on the football team. 2)Eating healthy makes me feel like shit. Or like I have to take a shit every 5 minutes... or pee. I have to pee a lot more now, from increased amounts of water drinkage. It also gives me gas. And lots of it. I'm smell.. :( 3)Still not king. 4)I love reading utter crap over and over again when I'm all menstral. The Princess Diaries makes me feel all gooey inside since like Mia, I am tall, and a vegetarian. Unlike Mia, I don't like my best friend's brother, and he doesn't like me back, and I am not the Princess of a small European Principality... okay. So really we are nothing alike. FINE! But I can hope that one day, I will find my Michael... Hell, I'd even settle for a Boris Pelkoski. He has a nice accent... if nothing else. But alas, no boy will stick his tongue down my throat.

Spent my weekend at the 2004 Northeast Elite College Showcase up at Providence College. Lots of fun. Eight 16 minutes games this weekend, with SHITLOADS of college recruters there. They had lists up with all the names of the colleges, THERE WERE 3 GIANT SHEETS OF PAPER! ah. Our team did well this weekend too, we won 7 games out of 8. And it was only our last game that we lost. It was to this other team from NJ that we could have beaten. I also got to see Megan Larcom, for all who might remember her. Her team was playing there too, so I got to spend the night at her new house in Middletown and we got to talk and catch up. It was a very draining weekend though. After about 3 games, you have absolutly no legs. I really don't want to go back to school. Ah. It sucks.

I didn't really want to have a snow day. For thing that makes next week another B week. And that means more WALCOTT THEN I CAN STAND! BAHHH! WHY I ASK! Plus this means I cant' go to the basketball banquet either.
But I guess I'm happy that we didn't have school. No school is good. Especially on a Friday.

Snow is still fallling outside. Jebus, its mid-March this should not be happening.
I finally took my Scarlet Letter test. My thing was, write 6 paragraphs about how Hester and Arthur both delt with their sins. Mine was all bullshit, but it wasn't half bad. I guess. She'll hate it. I know I'll only get about 5 points out of 100, cause thats just the way she is. ANIL WENCH!
Today was pretty much the same and yesterday, and tommorow is destined to be not much different. But I get to be a monkey. I guess that makes all the difference.

AH! I made some Irish Soda bread. It smells really good.
This morning I went to get my hair cut. My mom had made an appointment for 10.00 in the morning... arg. It was hard to get up. I got highlights. I don't know why. They sucked. I looked like a whore. I threw a fit. Cause I'm like that. So my mom, being the most excellent person she is, bought hair dye. It looks much better know and I kinda like it. Eh. Just get ready for something a little different.
